Apple announced its hottest property in town launching the spiritual successor of iPhone XR at the Steve Jobs Theater on 11th September, 2019. Unveiling a series of next generation smartphones, namely the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple has made sure to retain its budget and premium customers with latest upgrades and user friendly features.
iPhone 11 looks promising and continues the design legacy much like its predecessor. The smartphone will be available in six colors- Purple and Green being the latest variant with the usual Black, White, Yellow and Red models. Apple claims to use the "strongest glass ever" on the back and the front of the phone and as for the screen, you’re getting a 6.1-inch LCD one with a 828 x 1792 resolution on the iPhone 11, while the iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch 1125 x 2436 OLED display and the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch 1242 x 2688 OLED display.
The series of iPhone 11 is powered by the A13 Bionic chip. Apple touts the A13 Bionic as both the most powerful CPU and GPU ever in a smartphone, complete with the third-generation Neural Engine which is better at performing machine learning. The chip optimizations will improve the battery life in all three variants and Apple claims to have the best battery backup in iPhone 11 compared to all its previous smartphones.
As for charging, unsurprisingly wireless charging is supported, as is fast charging, with all three phones supposedly being able to juice up by 50% in 30 minutes - though that needs an 18W charger which comes in the box of the Pro models but is sold separately for the standard iPhone 11.
The biggest improvement in the iPhone lineup is the camera. The iPhone 11 is the real odd one out when it comes to cameras as it has two lenses on the back, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have three. In all cases there are 12MP lenses, with the three phones all having standard f/1.8 and ultra-wide f/2.4 lenses, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max also get a f/2.0 telephoto one with 2x optical zoom. The three phones all have a night mode, 4K video recording and as for the front camera, that’s 12MP too is expected to have improved and faster Face ID recognition.
A new selfie taking trend will be the next thing in industry as Apple promises people will experience slow-motion selfies that will be available on the new phones' front-facing selfie cam. The iPhone 11 ships with iOS 13 preinstalled on all three models, while for storage, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are set to be available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB sizes, while the iPhone 11 will come in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities.
The "Spatial Audio" will be new to all three 2019 iPhones. In terms of pricing, there's good news for prospective buyers. The entry-level model, i.e iPhone 11 is priced relatively lower than the earlier iPhone XR but the premium models (iPhone 11 Pro & Pro Max) are categorily priced according to their storage capacity. The pre-orders begins on 13th September and the release date and price in Middle Eastern countries like Qatar, Oman, Bharain will be confirmed soon.
